Following the Colorado Buffaloes' devastating loss Oct. 13 to Stanford, head coach Deion Sanders made it a point to discuss with his football players what he and they did during their bye in Week 8, and had some fun with Travis Hunter in the process.

In a video of the discussion, Coach Prime said he spent the time off in the country with some newly purchased side-by-side ATVs. During Sanders' account of his time off, a player asked how much the ATVs cost, and Sanders implied they were around $20,000.
To this, star wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter responded with "Never mind," implying that the price was too expensive for himself.
Sanders reminded the star two-way player of his NIL (name/image/likeness) deals.
"You got NILs, you can get that," Sanders said.
Responding without hesitation, Hunter said, "I'm broke."
The Buffaloes' first-year head coach approved of this response, which probably indicated he endorsed the idea of Hunter not spending his money on side-by-side ATVs.

As for Hunter, he said he stayed in Boulder to relax during the bye. He had played against Stanford, but that was his first game back following a lacerated liver suffered during their Week 3 game against in-state rival Colorado State.
In his return, Hunter had 13 catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns, his best statistical performance in receiving all season. On defense, the two-way player struggled. He had five tackles but allowed 11 receptions on 19 targets for 158 yards and two touchdowns. In the two games he played before exiting in Week 3, he allowed a total of four receptions on 12 targets for 65 yards and one touchdown.
The Buffaloes had led the Cardinal 29-0 at halftime before a second-half collapse that led to a 46-43 defeat in double overtime.
In Week 9, the Buffaloes will travel to take on Top 25-ranked UCLA.
