Colorado State Head Coach Takes Unnecessary Shot at Deion Sanders

Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell isn't a big fan of Deion Sanders and the way he operates during interviews.

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has become one of the most polarizing figures in college football, and in-state rival head coach Jay Norvell with Colorado State isn't a big fan of his new neighbor.

The two teams face off in Week 3 of the college football season, with Sanders and the Buffaloes looking to continue their red-hot start against a theoretically inferior 0-1 Rams team. As if the Buffaloes didn't have enough motivation going against their in-state rival, Norvell decided to add even more fuel to the fire by taking a shot at Sanders.

"I sat down with ESPN today," Norvell said according to SI.com. "I don't care if they hear it in Boulder. I told them, I took my hat off and I took my glasses off. I said when I talk to grown ups, I take my hat off and my glasses off. That's what my mother taught me. (Colorado's) not going to like us no matter what we say or do."

The vast majority of photos you'll find of Sanders in Colorado feature him in both a hat and sunglasses, regardless of whether he's on the field or in a press conference. While that may not mean much to some, Norvell is deciding to take it as a sign of disrespect.

Sanders and the Buffaloes are no stranger to comments lashing out against them. Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the son of Coach Prime, fired back at Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule following their win due to some comments that he felt like were personal attacks against his dad.

There's been no shortage of controversy or drama around Sanders and the Buffaloes heading into this college football season. However, the results are speaking for themselves with Colorado at 2-0 with both Shedeur and Travis Hunter near the top of the latest Heisman Trophy odds.

Given how much Colorado has used as bulletin board material this season, Norvell may end up regretting his decision to talk trash before Saturday.
