LeBron James Sends Shedeur Sanders a Memorable Gift

Los Angeles Lakers basketball superstar LeBron James is certainly someone who keeps his ear to the ground for the next up-and-coming stars, and he recently sent Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders a signed pair of his shoes.

This followed Sanders asking James for signed shoes and a jersey after the Lakers opened their season against the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 24.

In the clip above, Sanders shows off the items:

  • A pair of Lakers-colored shoes with a red Nike "swish."
  • And a predominantly yellow with purple text jersey, also signed by James and addressed to Shedeur.

At one point in the clip, someone jokes that Buffaloes safety and wide receiver Travis Hunter wrote James' signature, to which a teammate says jokingly, "You guys need God."

The gift also comes after James played in his 20th All-Star game. He was wearing the Nike LeBron 21 Air Diamond Turf Max shoes. They were remixed to honor Shedeur's father and head coach, Deion Sanders.

James was among a few along with DJ Khaled, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne — to receive a pair of the Sanders-inspired Diamond Turf 3s. There was a limited run of 1,500 shoes; but with a massive weekend planned along with the Buffaloes' April 27 spring game, perhaps there will be a re-release.

While we know Shedeur is set to suit up for the Buffaloes this season and his dad, Deion, will be the head coach there for years to come, we also know that James is still going strong.

"I am a Laker, and I've been very happy being a Laker the last six years, and hopefully it stays that way," James said. "I don't have the answer to how long it will be or what uniform I'll be wearing. Hopefully, it is with the Lakers. It's a great organization with so many greats. We'll see. I don't know how it's going to end, but it's coming. It's coming, for sure."

The Buffaloes went 4-8 last season after starting 3-0 by defeating TCU, Nebraska and Colorado State.

Shedeur missed the final game of the season due to multiple injuries after being sacked roughly 50 times throughout the season.
