Shedeur Sanders Fires Back at Matt Rhule's Comments About Deion Sanders

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a massive game in the 36-14 victory over rival Nebraska on Saturday, but he may have had an extra motivator.

Totaling 393 passing yards and three total touchdowns, Sanders disclosed that there was some extra motivation for him against the Huskers. First-year Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule made some comments when he took the job that looked like shots at Colorado, and specifically head coach Deion Sanders, Shedeur's dad.

"I had my first team meeting last night," Sanders said. "I'm one of those guys, I don't let cameras in, there won't be a camera following me around. I want it to always be (about) the players."

While Rhule did not specifically mention Sanders, it did seem like he was eluding to the amount of attention that Sanders recently brought to the Colorado program. The two programs have been recruiting against each other again, so it would make sense that Rhule would try to separate himself from Sanders.

In his post-game press conference, the younger Sanders did not mince his words.

"It was extremely personal," Sanders said. "The coach said a lot of things about my Pops, about the program- but now he wanna act nice. I don't respect that."

Of course, the Sanders family got the last laugh as Shedeur continued his Heisman argument and Deion and his staff soundly out-coached Nebraska en route to a 36-14 victory.

The two programs have definitely reignited a rivalry that had been dormant for a while. With both teams now having new head coaches, with seemingly different personalities, there will be plenty of opportunities for situations like this to continue to happen.

The two teams have so far had pretty different rebuilds as Colorado is now 2-0 and ranked while Nebraska
