Travis Hunter is Demanding to Play Against USC

Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter texted Deion Sanders that he is demanding to play this week against USC.

The Colorado Buffaloes are still reeling from their 42-6 loss against the Oregon Ducks, but it's hard to say if anyone is taking the loss as hard as Travis Hunter, who was forced to miss the game, and is now begging head coach Deion Sanders to be back on the field in Week 5.

Hunter sent a text to "Coach Prime" saying, "I need to play this week. We need to get everything we can so I can get back on the field. I'm not taking no for an answer."

Unfortunately, though, it's not going to happen as Hunter continues to recover from a brutal hit laid on him by Colorado State Rams safety Henry Blackburn that some say lacerated his liver.

"No, you ain't ready and I care about you more than I care about this game," Sanders replied. "You're going to change the game of football one day when you're healthy and ready. Your future is brighter than mine ever would be and ever was. Relax and get healthy. I love you son."

Sanders shared this exchange in a meeting with his team as a source of motivation and to let them know that Hunter is thinking about them and wants to be on the field.

"I care about y'all more than I care about this game," Sanders said to the team.

Hunter has been a sensational player this season and he said he was willing to go back out and play even after this hit.

"Good thing the doctors stopped me because if there was no doctors there I'd still be out there playing," Hunter said to Bleacher Report.

Hunter, a two-way player, has caught 16 passes for 213 yards and also has an interception, nine tackles, and three passes defended.

The Buffaloes now take on the cream-of-the-crop in the Pac-12 as Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans head to Boulder this Saturday.
