Oregon has been frantically searching for its next head coach after firing Mark Helfrich at the conclusion of the season. Several names had popped up as potential candidates and seemingly all of them got shot down at one point or another. Well, after waiting on some other schools to hire their coach, Oregon has finally found its coach.

The Ducks will hire someone out of the southeast, specifically from the AAC:

Taggart had been one of the hottest names on the coaching carousel and it looks like his steady improvement of the USF program has garnered him a much more high-profile job. The Bulls went 10-2 this season and actually have the best record of any college football team in the state of Florida. Taggart took them from 2-10 his first season to a bowl game last season and the Birmingham Bowl this season.
