It's no secret that some fans and people within the program did not want Mark Helfrich and his staff to stick around after this season where the Ducks went 4-8. It marked a continual decline from the College Football Playoff appearance in 2014 where the team went 12-1 in the regular season.

The next season saw a decline to 9-3 and what was worse was the 37.5 points allowed by the team. Easily the worst in school history up to that point. This year's squad was even worse, allowing 41.4 points per game, which was third-worst in the country. So when Willie Taggart was introduced as the new coach, it shouldn't come as any shock that this might be some advice for him:
That's a not-so-thinly veiled shot at former defensive coordinator Brady Hoke, who was also the head coach at Michigan where he was much maligned for not winning games. This should be a fun start for Taggart and whoever he brings on staff because the bar has not been set very high for them to succeed defensively.
