If it feels like you've seen quite a lot of Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix, it's because you really have.
With an appearance in Oregon's game against Washington State in October, he set an NCAA record with the 54th start of his career. Now, when he takes the field against Washington with the Pac-12 title on the line, he'll extend that record by becoming the first-ever college quarterback to start 60 games.

Due in large part to altered eligibility rules in the wake of the COVID-19 eligibility, Nix has had an abnormally long college career. He broke the record jointly held by Boise State's Kellen Moore and Texas's Colt McCoy back in October, both of whom accomplished the feat by starting 13 games each in three seasons, and 14 in one, due to playing in conference championships and bowls.
Nix has made his starts across the past five seasons, with 34 in three seasons at Auburn, and 26 at Oregon after transferring in the past two campaigns, including Friday's Pac-12 title game. What's even more fitting is that Nix's first career start with the Tigers came against his future team in the Ducks.
Coming into that clash of titans, Nix is an impressive 42-17 in those starts, with exactly half of those wins coming in his two impressive seasons as a Duck.
The unusually-experienced Nix is making history just by being on the field, but even more is on the line. He's currently the betting favorite to win this year's Heisman Trophy, so a conference crown could go a long way for his resume. Perhaps more importantly, Oregon is likely in this year's College Football Playoff with a win over #3 Washington, the only team that's beaten them so far. We'll have to wait and see whether Nix's long and winding career goes to the only two places it hasn't gone yet; a playoff match and the Heisman ceremony.
