Oregon Runs Crazy Fake Field Goal for Two Point Conversion

Oregon won big last week against Portland State 81-7 at home. Today, they traveled to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech in a non-conference Power 5 matchup. Texas Tech and Oregon were tied at 7-7  in the middle of the first quarter when Bo Nix threw a touchdown pass to Tez Johnson for 13 yards to take a 13-7 lead.

Oregon was lined up in a standard field goal formation. Instead, it chose to lateral it back to Tight End Patrick Herbert, the younger brother of NFL Quarterback Justin Herbert, who threw it to fellow Tight End Terrance Ferguson in the back of the end zone for the two-point conversion.

At the writing of this article, Oregon is currently leading Texas Tech 15-13 in the second quarter. Oregon quarterback Bo Nix has 153 passing yards and two touchdowns, and Patrick Herbert has no stats besides the two-point conversion throw.
