Napier started out as a graduate assistant at Clemson in 2003 and 2004 before moving on to Fresno State to become the QBs coach and then back to Clemson as a tight ends coach and then QB coach and then offensive coordinator for two seasons (2009-10) with the Tigers. He was then the assistant head coach under Jim McElwain at Colorado State in 2012 before taking a job as the tight ends coach at Florida State for the 2013 season and finally as a receivers coach at Alabama in 2013 until now.
