Rising college program reportedly "closing in” on making marquee hire

This should really help them in one area.

LSU coach Ed Orgeron is closing in on hiring two positions on his coaching staff.

The Advocate is reporting that LSU is about to bring on Mickey Joseph of Louisiana Tech and Tommie Robinson of USC.

Robinson would be the catch. He has more than 25 years of coaching experience, but his biggest calling card is recruiting.  He helped USC land six-top recruits and  was ranked the Pac-12's No. 1 recruiter by the 247Sports Composite. He's primarily coached running backs for most of his career.

Joseph, a former Nebraska Cornhusker (1987-1991) coached running backs at  Louisiana Tech.

Robinson and Joseph would replace running backs coach Jabbar Juluke, who was removed from his coaching duties, and  and has wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig, who went to Auburn.
