Travis Hunter's Injury and Return Timeline Revealed

Colorado Buffaloes superstar Travis Hunter is expected to miss significant time after suffering a lacerated liver against Colorado State.

In Week 3 of college football action, the Colorado Buffaloes beat in-state rival Colorado State Rams 43-35 in double-overtime, and while they won the game, they are set to be without star wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter for three to four weeks, according to Skip Bayless of FOX Sports' program "Undisputed."

The controversial announcer somehow got the scoop on Hunter, and provided an update on the superstar on his national program. According to Bayless, Hunter will be out for up to a month with a lacerated liver.

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders confirmed that reporting by telling 247Sports' Carl Reed Jr. that Hunter would be out three weeks.

The lead-up to the Buffaloes and Rams game was a contentious one. Between Rams head coach Jay Norvell commenting on Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders wearing a hood and sunglasses when "talking to adults" to the pregame smack talk, this one became personal.

Throughout the game, the Rams committed 17 penalties for 182 yards. Of those penalties, though, the most devastating to the Buffaloes was a blatant late hit from Rams safety Henry Blackburn that lacerated Hunters' liver.

As you can see in the clip above, Hunter is blanketed in coverage. Also, Blackburn delivers the hit after the ball is out of Hunters' reach and hits the ground.

He was hit with a personal foul, but targeting wasn't called.

Hunter caught two passes on two targets for 21 yards. Defensively, he allowed two receptions on three targets for 29 yards and a touchdown, per Pro Football Focus.

Blackburn played 79 snaps and 60 in coverage. He recorded three tackles, one missed tackle, one quarterback pressure, and an interception.

In the first overtime, the Buffaloes scored on a three-yard pass from quarterback Shedeur Sanders to Michael Harrison. The Rams responded with an eight-yard throw to Tory Horton from quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi.

The Buffaloes would secure it in the second overtime, though, with another pass from Sanders to Harrison, but this time for 18 yards.

After going 1-11 last season, the Buffaloes are 3-0 this season but head into back-to-back challenges against the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans.

Based on the timeline for Hunters' injury, they'll be without him in these critical Pac-12 matchups.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Buffaloes are 20.5-point road underdogs against the Ducks as Sanders takes on fellow top-rated college signal-caller Bo Nix.
