Four-star CB Marcus Johnson suddenly announces decommit from USC

Where will he go now?

Four-star cornerback Marcus Johnson has officially de-committed from USC, he announced Tuesday on his Twitter page.

"First off [I] would like to thank the whole [USC] staff for everything they've done," Johnson wrote on Twitter. "After long thought I've decided it's best for me to re-open my recruitment..."

Johnson, a native of California, was the No. 32 cornerback in the class of 2018 and the No. 46 player of any position in the state of California, according to 247 Sports. The move for Johnson to re-open his recruitment figures to make him one of the top cornerback options in his class.

Prior to committing to USC, Johnson received offers from Arizona, Nebraska, Tennessee and Notre Dame among others.

With the decommit, USC is now down to just 14 commitments for their 2018 recruiting class. However, things are often about quality, not quantity; that class still ranks tenth in the nation according to the rankings at 247Sports.
