USC quarterback and potential NFL Draft No. 1 pick Caleb Williams might have played his final college football game already.

Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley confirmed on Monday his star passer won't be playing in the Holiday Bowl against Louisville on Dec. 27 at Petco Park in San Diego, a move that was expected given Williams' profile before a highly anticipated 2024 NFL Draft.

Williams, however, has still not declared for the NFL, as his teammate running back MarShawn Lloyd did. Last week, Williams told The Los Angeles Times that declaring for the NFL would be a "game-time decision."
Of course, it's smart of Williams to sit out a bowl game that doesn't mean much, especially when one injury could cost him millions of dollars. Last year's Heisman Trophy winner threw for 3,633 yards and 30 touchdowns to five interceptions while rushing for 136 and 11 touchdowns.
The Trojans finished the regular season 7-5 after beginning the season 6-0. They lost their last three games, to Washington, Oregon and UCLA.
What's next for Williams could very well be hearing his name called first come April 24, 2024.
