Paul Finebaum talks the one coach who doesn’t get enough credit as “one of the best”

He's right.

It is Paul Finebaum's job to be provocative and, frankly, he is quite good at it. At any given moment, there is always at least one college football fan base in a rage directed at the ESPN personality and that, again, means that he is executing what he wants to do.

However, there are also times when Finebaum can please a fan base in a big way and that happened this week with TCU and Gary Patterson. In short, Finebaum referenced the veteran head coach as someone who "does not get enough credit as being one of the best coaches in this game" and that was just the beginning.

"He does not get enough credit for being one of the best coaches in this game."

Patterson has been doing a high-end job at TCU since 2000 and, even with a few down years (including 2016) on his profile, there is little doubt that he is a tremendous head coach. This season, Patterson has the Horned Frogs sitting with an unexpected record of 5-0 and, beyond that, he has led the TCU program to double-digit victories on ten occasions since taking over.

TCU has a big one this weekend against Kansas State and it is never fun to square off with Bill Snyder and the Wildcats. This might be one time, though, when KSU doesn't necessarily have the best head coach on the field.
