Paul Finebaum has some blunt remarks on Les Miles' odds of getting the Ole Miss job

Welp.

Sometimes Paul Finebaum likes to speculate about things with several possible outcomes, but he seems pretty blunt about the likely outcome here.

On one of his weekly radio appearances, Finebaum brought up the subject of the now open Ole Miss job and the rumors that former LSU head coach Les Miles was a candidate. Finebaum wasn't entertaining the possibility at all, and said that there is no chance that Miles gets the job in Oxford.

Here's what Finebaum had to say: [h/t Saturday Down South]

"He's not getting the Ole Miss job," Finebaum said on the air. "I find that to be one of the most ridiculous statements that I've ever seen that somebody is actually taking seriously. And by the way, I'm not suggesting that people are, all (USA TODAY's Dan) Wolken is reporting is that Les (Miles) wants the job — well, Les has wanted every job that's come available since October of last year.

"He couldn't get the Houston job, he's not getting the Ole Miss job."

USA Today's Dan Wolken had reported on Sunday that Miles was indeed interested in the job, but going by what Finebaum believes, that interest doesn't appear to be reciprocated by those at Ole Miss.

Ole Miss is looking for a new coach after Hugh Freeze resigned last week following his own personal scandal. Ole Miss is also under a separate investigation by the NCAA that could wind up with sanctions in the future, meaning that it could be slim pickings for the Rebels in terms of coaches that want the job.
