Fans Rip James Franklin After Orange Bowl Loss

Penn State took an early 10-0 lead over the Fighting Irish, but ultimately fell to Notre Dame 24-27 in the semifinal. Despite a successful season, Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin came under fire after yet another loss to a ranked team. In his tenure, his has an abysmal record of 4-20 against top-10 teams in his career.

Following Penn State's loss, fans laid into Franklin on social media.

"James Franklin is the bronze medal of college football head coaches," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"James Franklin and Mike Tomlin are the same coach. Leads the team to a winning record in the regular season and can't win in the playoffs. It's a circle of hell," another fan added.

Media Pundit Believes Raiders, Allar Would Be Perfect Fit

Earlier this year, Nittany Lions coach Drew Allar revealed to return to Penn State in 2025. But with his recent string of performances, some are encouraging him to change course and enter the NFL Draft. If Allar were to become available in the draft this spring one media pundit believes that the Las Vegas Raiders would be the perfect fit.

"One player the Raiders could consider in the upcoming NFL Draft is Penn State quarterback Drew Allar. Although he recently stated he planned on returning to college, there is still time for Allar to change his mind, and an impressive showing in the College Football Playoffs could help propel him to the top of many QB draft boards in an overall weak draft class of quarterbacks," Ezekiel Trezevant of Sports Illustrated writes.

The Raiders undoubtedly need a quarterback, as they are in a division where every team has a legitimate quarterback except them. The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best quarterbacks of all time with Patrick Mahomes, the Chargers have quarterback Justin Herbert, and the Denver Broncos have quarterback Bo Nix.
