According to 247Sports, Penn State cornerback John Reid suffered an injury in spring practice and the injury is likely severe enough to keep Reid out for the 2017 season. Reid, a former four-star recruit of the 2015 class, could potentially redshirt and still have two years of eligibility remaining.

Reid had become of a vital part of the Penn State defense over the past two seasons, starting a total of 16 games across his freshman and sophomore campaigns. Reid had already racked up 65 total tackles and three interceptions in his two years with the Nittany Lions.
Reid has also provided value on special teams, returning 22 punts for 166 yards in 2016. He will be a difficult player for Penn State to replace, and it's a shame that he could possibly miss the entire season.
