Five-star running back Lorenzo Lingard committed to Miami on Thursday, and his cousin, Avantae Williams, committed to the Hurricanes a day later.

Lingard is the No. 2 running back for the Class of 2018, and he is the No. 15 overall player according to 247Sports. Williams, who is a 2020 recruit, is unranked at the time, but he is considered to be one of the top defensive backs in the state of Florida.

"The best players played at Miami," Williams told 247Sports Ryan Bartow. "I want to continue that legacy. Sean Taylor. Ed Reed. Ray Lewis. The Rock. It's crazy the people that played there and are part of that legacy. My mom loves Miami's legacy. She never got the chance to experience that. I want to make her happy. And if football doesn't work out Miami is Miami. There's so much there in terms of business and education-wise."

Williams, who is from Deland, Florida, is a 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back who made 77 tackles and forced two fumbles as a freshman.
