Former college football recruit passes away after tragic health battle

RIP.

The Tallahassee Democrat reported on Saturday that former college football recruit Cam Brown had passed away after a tragic battle with cancer.

Brown was a standout defensive end/outside linebacker and wrestler for Florida High School in Tallahassee. Brown, a two-star recruit per 247Sports, had committed to play with Western Carolina's football team.

Back in May, Brown was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer that prevented him from playing. Brown eventually had one of his leg amputated due to the diseases, but the Tallahassee Democrat notes that Brown stayed positive through the fight and maintained hope of one day playing for Western Carolina.

We send our thoughts and prayers to Brown's family as they deal with this tragedy.
