Details emerge after four-star recruit Greg Emerson goes down with injury at The Opening

Emerson is the No. 3 defensive tackle in the nation.

Some good news has emerged after what looked like a brutal injury.

Four-star defensive tackle Greg Emerson went down with what appeared to be a serious leg injury at this past weekend's The Opening recruiting camp in Oregon. Emerson had to be carted off the field by medical personnel, but relatively good news has since emerged, as Barton Simmons of 247Sports says that Emerson suffered a dislocated ankle and could be back on the field in four-to-six weeks.

Emerson later took to Twitter and confirmed the diagnosis.

"Thanks for all the prayers and concerns but I am fine I will be back and running w/ in 4-6 weeks"

Emerson is rated as the No. 3 defensive tackle by the 247Sports player rankings, and was on the borderline of earning a five-star rating from that service. Emerson has offers from schools like Alabama, Tennessee, and Ohio State, with 247 currently listing Tennessee as the favorite.
