"Administrative error" is not what you want to hear when one of your players is now being ruled ineligible for a whole year.

However, that is apparently what happened with Ole Miss running back Jordan Wilkins, as the NCAA denied an appeal on Thursday that will end with Wilkins being ineligible for the 2016 season.
Here's the statement from Ole Miss:
"Jordan Wilkins will miss the 2016 regular season after not meeting NCAA standards for progress toward degree. An appeal was filed with the NCAA for Jordan's reinstatement based on an administrative error but was denied this week. The athletics department takes full responsibility and holds itself accountable when situations occur with our student-athletes. We will support Jordan to the fullest during this time and look forward to seeing him return to the field.
Well that is unfortunate for Wilkins.

NCAA rules state that an athlete must have at least 60-percent of their graduation requirements completed prior to the start of their fourth-year in school. It is unclear what the "administrative error" here is from Ole Miss, but someone must have missed something on Wilkins that meant he didn't get to the 60-percent completion point.
Wilkins was in the race to be the starting running back for the Rebels. He ran for 379 yards and four touchdowns last season as a sophomore.
