Just about everyone expected Alabama to start Jalen Hurts against Western Kentucky Saturday and Nick Saban did just that, starting the true freshman for the Tide's home opener. Hurts starting marks the first time a true freshman has started a game at quarterback for Alabama in 32 years, the last time being Vince Sutton in 1984.
Hurts broke through for Bama in the season opener against USC relieving starter Blake Barnett and delivering four touchdowns in the Tide's 52-6 win. Saban was noncommittal on whether it would be Hurts or Blake Barnett starting against Western Kentucky and fans should expect to see both get time under center Saturday.
