Here's what his statement said:
"At Alabama, I loved Coach (Nick) Saban's plans for his players. Not only do they have a great competitive football program, but academically they also do a great job.
"Their focus is to give you the tools to become a successful man in life, and that is my main goal. I absolutely love what Alabama has in store for their students and athletes. They have lots of history and everlasting tradition. I feel this was the best decision for me, as I am a boy trying to become a man. I am very comfortable with my decision and very blessed to be in this situation. I will be ready to compete at U of A when that time comes. But for now all I can say is ROLLTIDE."
Hurts is a 6'2", 208-pound who is coming off a 21-passing, 19-rushing touchdown season as a junior.
