Alabama assistant gets a raise, now worth more than some head coaches

He's worth it though!

When you coach in the SEC you tend to get paid more than other coaches, even ones from the other Power Five conferences. That holds true for the assistants as well as Alabama's strength and conditioning coach, Scott Cochran, just got a massive raise. Not only is he getting paid more than half a million dollars, but that's more than some head coaches.

If you think that's a lot of money, just consider what he did for Alabama this season. He made Derrick Henry basically unstoppable on his way to a Heisman trophy and helped mold the offensive line to help him as well. The defensive line was a group of absolute monsters and allowed the fewest rushing yards per game at only about 75. I would say he earned that raise, especially since the Crimson Tide won the national title too.
