Alabama commit becomes country's top recruit according to this service

Alabama continues to put a strangehold on the recruiting trail.

Najee Harris is 2017's top ranked running back and has been for some time now. There's only one thing that's changed and it's that he's been named the top overall recruit in the class by Rivals.

Rivals recruiting director Mike Farrell called Harris the "best running back prospect" since LSU's Leonard Fournette and compared him to former top-ranked high school running backs such as Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch, Bryce Brown and Jonathan Stewart. Harris is the first back to be ranked No. 1 since former Brown in 2009.

Harris has been committed to the Crimson Tide since April 2015 and is one of the big reasons why they have the top ranked recruiting class right now. Harris rushed for 2,744 yards and 36 touchdowns on 243 carries and caught five passes for 129 yards and three touchdowns in 2015.
