Well, that is not the only thing the Crimson Tide accomplished in 2015, as they set a record that will make their athletic department, boosters, and fans very happy: according to Forbes, the Alabama football team recording the highest yearly revenue of any team in college football history.
Not only did Nick Saban deliver the University of Alabama its 4th national college football title in 7 years, but he also helped subsidize the entire Crimson Tide athletics department by generating an astonishing $95,132,301 in revenue, the most ever by any single team in the history of college sports.
That is a rather amazing number, as Alabama is now knocking on the $100 million mark. However, as Forbes also noted, profits for the school were actually down, which is likely attributed to an added trip to the College Football Playoff, plus pay raises for coaches.
If Alabama manages to have another crazily successful season in 2016, it will be interesting to see if they can break the $100 million mark, and further break their own record.
