Alabama reportedly self-reports team violations

Not a good look for the defending champs.

According to Tide Sports, Alabama self-reported 19 secondary violations from the 2015-16 season, including five from Nick Saban's football program.

One violation included a trophy being temporarily placed in an area which prospects visited, resulting in an "impermissible recruiting decoration" of that area. Another was impermissible contact and free training provided from a former athlete to a current one.

According to the report, Alabama has already taken action following the impermissible contact issue:

"The corrective action for the impermissible contact between members of the football staff and a prospective student-athlete called for the involved coach being prohibited from making recruiting calls for two weeks, no calls, recruiting materials, or electronic communication sent to the involved prospect for 30 days."

While teams never want to break NCAA rules, these don't seem nearly as bad as what Ole Miss is dealing with.
