Alabama Fans Yell Racist and Homophobic Slurs at Texas Players

Alabama Crimson Tide fans yelled some truly disgusting things at Texas Longhorns players during their loss on Saturday.

The Texas Longhorns had a triumphant, 32-24 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide — but during the game, Alabama students shouted racist and homophobic remarks at the players.

In a post from Angie Wisner, the mother of freshman running back Tre Wisner, she illustrated her experience.

"The fact my son down there and they saying go back to the projects really just saddens my heart that as his mother no matter how old he had to listen to that! Love you Son! But the parents went through this all night! Beer cans thrown at us, water bottles, spit! Disgrace"

As you can hear in the clip above, the students are shouting slurs, but the players are taking it in stride. Still, no one can argue with how terrible the things being said are.

Wisner mentions that beer cans, water bottles and even spit were sent parents' way during the game.

The Longhorns led the game for all but a couple of minutes. The Crimson Tide scored a touchdown with 14 seconds left in the third quarter to go up 16-13, but the Longhorns responded with a 7-yard touchdown strike from Quinn Ewers to wide receiver A.D. Mitchell with 14:05 left in the game. So, the Crimson Tide led for about a minute and nine seconds.

Ewers finished the game having completed 24 of 38 passes for 349 yards and three touchdowns. Their defense held Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe to 14 completions for 255 yards and two touchdowns, and it got two picks.

The Crimson Tide fan base obviously isn't accustomed to losing, as their last loss came at home against No. 1 LSU and quarterback Joe Burrow 46-41 in 2019. However, Saturday's behavior was simply abhorrent.

The Longhorns head home to take on Wyoming, and Alabama will seek to get back on track against South Florida.
