Alabama's best recruit just backed off his commitment

Avery Johnson won't be too happy about that.

Alabama is used to getting five-star recruits on the football field, but not so much the hardwood. When the Crimson Tide finally did get one in August fans and coach Avery Johnson were pretty ecstatic. It looks like they'll have to hold on to those feelings as small forward Terrance Ferguson just backed off his verbal commitment to Alabama and will open up his recruitment again.

The 6'7" wing player is considered one of the best shooters in the 2016 class and is still considering Alabama, but his grandmother just passed away and so he wanted to take his time and make sure he is making the right call for him and his family. Scouts has him ranked as the No. 13 recruit in the country and the best in the state of Texas.
