Alabama Legend Shares Wild Nick Saban Story About Evading the Police

With Alabama head coach Nick Saban retiring from college football, we're starting to hear some eye-popping stories about the seven-time national champion — such as him allegedly evading the police.

The story came from former Crimson Tide running back Bo Scarbrough, who played for Alabama from 2014 to 2017. The Tuscaloosa native went on to become a seventh-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2018 NFL draft. In his NFL career, he played for the Cowboys, Jaguars, Seahawks, Lions and Raiders.

In his story, Scarbrough recalls an instance when Saban ordered a person in a car he was in not to pull over as he leaving a golf tournament.

"We had hit about 50 speed limit, so we hit it. You know me, I'm from the hood. So we speed and I like that type of stuff. So Jeff's [Allen] like, 'Ced [Burns], slow down.' Coach Saban's on the phone at the time and Ced didn't say nothing. So I look at Jeff and Jeff looks at me and he said, 'Ced, slown down.' Next thing you know, we zoomed past the police. I'm talking about like we're going 90. ... (Burns) calls somebody and then hung up the phone and they still was behind us. Jeff was like, 'Ced, you ain't gonna stop?' Coach Saban turned around and said, 'Jeff, we're not stopping.' We just kept going. Police just backed up off us and just said, 'stop driving reckless,'" Scarbrough recalled.

The story is incredibly detailed, and we know Saban enjoys golf. So at the very least, the setting for this story is appropriate.

Fans on X gave their opinions, mostly finding it hilarious.

"Saban and Cedric running from the police that Saban documentary is gonna be 9 hours long man," one user said.

"The story is almost as funny as the fact that if you just saw Bo Scarborough then heard this voice it would be the last thing you'd expect lol," another user said.

"Hahaha! The GOAT said 'we ain't stopping' and when the GOAT speaks even the law like 'yeah yall go on do ya thing,'" someone else said.

"Mf thought he was gonna pull over Saban? In Alabama? ... nah he should've let off when he ran the tag," another fan said.

According to Scarbrough, the incident occurred when he, Saban and two others were leaving a golf tournament, going 90 mph in a 50 mph zone, before the police eventually gave up on the pursuit.

What do you think? Is Scarbrough's story true? Either way, it was a comedic recounting of an event that may or may not have happened.
