Chip Kelly explains his visit to Alabama before the national title game

Chip Kelly was officially introduced as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday, a job he picked up after being fired by the Philadelphia Eagles after the 2015 season.

One of the topics that came up during the presser was Kelly's controversial visit to Tuscaloosa prior the the Crimson Tide's College Football Playoff final against No. 1 Clemson. Kelly spoke candidly about the issue, saying it was nothing more than an invitation from Nick Saban to watch some football.

"I was home in New Hampshire and Nick asked me if I would come down just to watch football," Kelly said. "And I had nothing to do with them playing Clemson or I didn't give them any insight into playing Clemson."

This is really nothing new among coaches, as coaches often discuss the sport with each other. Usually it is not big news, but when two personalities like Saban and Kelly get together that close to a title game, it is not going to be ignored.
