Colin Cowherd becomes the latest to go after Alabama QB Jalen Hurts

Seriously?

The Alabama Crimson Tide had very little issue in toppling a top-tier team on a neutral field in the season opener. However, the 24-7 win over Florida State apparently did not do enough to assuage skepticism about quarterback Jalen Hurts and his overall level of performance.

First, Paul Finebaum of ESPN described his feelings as "underwhelmed" in discussing what Hurts was able to do against the 'Noles in Atlanta. Now, Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports is the next in line to go after Hurts' ability.

Cowherd refers to Hurts as "the most limited quarterback of your top ten teams" and even goes as far as to say he believes that his abilities will "catch up to" Alabama at some point this season. Given his elite status as a prospect, this seems to be a bit harsh given some of the other quarterbacks of teams currently ranked in the top ten and, after all, Hurts was able to lead the Crimson Tide to the national title game as a freshman just one season ago.

Still, being the quarterback at Alabama comes with a microscope that not every player is faced with and Hurts will likely have to be super-human to avoid criticism in the future as a result.
