Country music star and former front man for Hootie & the Blowfish is a huge college football fan and is a notorious South Carolina fan —- he went there. He was on ESPNU radio ahead of his pre-game performance at the National Championship Game and said something that Alabama fans would find absolutely blasphemous.
Here's what he said in the interview:
"He's the greatest college football coach ever. He's done it everywhere he's gone and he's won," Rucker said. "What he's doing at Alabama is almost making college football boring (because) you know Alabama's going to be (in contention for the title) every year.
"Like I said the other day, he's not recruiting, he's just asking."
While Alabama does seem to get to the national title a lot, it always seems to be a mystery as to how they get there. Will they go undefeated or will they end up needing some help from other teams like they did this year? The Crimson Tide has been to the title game six of the last nine years including this season.
