Linebacker Mack Wilson is one of the top recruits of the 2016 recruiting cycle, and is he is a valued member of Alabama's incoming freshman class. Unfortunately, it looks like Wilson may have to wait a while before taking to the practice field, Wilson tweeted out on Monday that he will need surgery to repair a meniscus tear.
Wilson later deleted the tweet, College Spun was able to screenshot it before it was deleted.
This won't be Wilson's first time under the knife over the past few months. According to SEC Country, Wilson had surgery to repair a torn labrum back in April, which remedied an injury that Wilson had been dealing with since 10th grade.
Think about that for a second: Wilson is a five-star linebacker recruit, and he had been playing with a lame shoulder for two years.
It might be a little concerning that Mack is having these injuries before even taking a snap at the college ball level, but as that shoulder injury shows, he appears to be a very tough player.
Wilson was the No. 2 inside linebacker of the 2016 class, and the No. 15 overall recruit according to 247Sports.
