Former Alabama linebacker set to make UFC debut

This is really cool.

Former Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Eryk Anders is making the jump from the gridiron to the octagon.

Anders, who won a National Championship with Alabama in '09, revealed the news that he was UFC-bound in an Instagram post.

In the post, Anders reveals that he's fighting in UFC, but that his first fight is July 22, just a few weeks away in Long Island, NY.

Anders has been working in MMA since his football career came to a close, recently competing in Legacy Fighting Alliance where he was the Middleweight champion.

Anders is 8-0 in his young MMA career, while his opponent, Rafael Natal is 21-8-1 in his career.
