Chaos strikes college football again as No. 1 Alabama suffers first loss of the season

BOOM!

The No. 1 team in college football has fallen!

No. 1 Alabama took a visit to No. 6 Auburn on Saturday, where the Tigers were able to walk away with the upset win by a 26-14 score.

The story of this game was similar to Auburn's game against then No. 1 Georgia two weeks ago. The Auburn defense was able to consistently put pressure on Alabama's offense, and the Crimson Tide were often unable to keep up. Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts did have some success in the running game by scrambling under pressure, but Auburn was simply controlling the point of attack too much for Alabama make plays on offense.

With the Alabama loss, expect a lot of shakeups in the newest edition of the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday. No. 2 Miami lost to unranked Pitt on Friday, and teams like Auburn, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and even teams like Ohio State and USC have a lot to gain from the losses.

With the win, Auburn will advance to the SEC Championship Game to face Georgia. Georgia clinched their spot several weeks ago, and are on a two-game win streak since their loss to Auburn.
