A recruit that was considered a lock for LSU in 2017 now has a new team on top.

Four-star linebacker Chris Allen (6-foot-4, 222 pounds, Baton Rouge, La.) was favored to say with the hometown Tigers, until recently, when he told Scout that the Alabama Crimson Tide are now the leaders for his recruitment.
"Alabama is my No. 1 school now," said Allen. "I was recently there for a visit and I liked everything. It was my first time visiting Alabama and I really liked the facilities, the coaches, and the environment.
This is a continuance in the now famous recruiting battle between Nick Saban and Les Miles, as the two have been directly competing for top recruits over the past several years, and Allen is now another cog in that battle.
Interestingly enough, 247Sports still lists LSU has the heavy favorite despite this announcement. Maybe that will shift in the coming things, but one thing is clear: one of the top recruits in the land is now very available to any team that can grab him.
