Get used to him because Nick Saban isn't going away any time soon

The SEC West is going to be under his control for years to come.

Nick Saban is entering his tenth season at Alabama and some other schools are trying to use his age as a deterrent for recruits to go there. But he wants to make it clear that age is very much just a number.

Saban was asked at the SEC meetings this past week about how he feels at his age —- he will turn 65 on Halloween this year —- andbasically said that he feels as good as he's ever felt and maybe even better. The SEC better watch out because a motivated Nick Saban is a scary one. This is specifically what he said to Chris Low of ESPN:

"I really can't imagine not coaching. The only way I could imagine it was if I got to the point where I couldn't put the same amount of work into it and couldn't give the players the same commitment I always have. When that happens, that's when I'll get out. It really doesn't have anything to do with how old I am. And right now, I'm as energetic and look forward to practice and recruiting when I get up every morning as much as I ever have.

"It's the same way it's always been for me. Nothing's different."

Saban having to replace defensive coordinator Kirby Smart should spark a fire in Saban as well to show that he can run the defense on his own and prove once again that he owns that side of the ball.

It sounds very much like Saban will be on the sidelines for maybe even a whole decade longer and rival SEC coaches better take note because he is not going away and not going in to the night quietly.
