With Florida naming its field after legendary coach and Heisman winner Steve Spurrier, that has to get some Alabama fans thinking about what might happen after Nick Saban retires. Bryant-Denny Stadium has a nice field, but no name attached to it. It only makes sense that Saban should get the same treatment as Spurrier.

Can Saban ever receive the same amount of accolades as the great Paul "Bear" Bryant? Perhaps not. To win SEC Coach of the Year 12 times would be absolutely impossible in today's game, but Saban could catch him in national titles. He only needs two more to tie Bryant and that's a number he can certainly reach if he continues to recruit like he does and stays on as coach for as long as he says he will.

If Saban wants to come close to getting to Bryant's win total at Alabama he would probably have to coach until the end of his days as Bryant has 232 wins in Tuscaloosa while Saban is at an even 100 right now. However, if Saban is to be considered the second-best coach of all-time or at least at Alabama then getting the field named after him seems like a no-brainer, right?
Surely, Alabama will do the right thing and he'll get the field named after him right when he retires. Until then, we all get to watch the best coach in the game right now and hopefully he can get a lot more wins under his belt before he calls it a career.
