Key Alabama defender gets brutal news on injury suffered in the Iron Bowl

That doesn't sound good at all.

Alabama senior defensive back Hootie Jones left the Iron Bowl against Auburn with an injury and we now reportedly know what it is. According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Jones suffered a partially torn MCL. He was apparently seen riding in an ambulance by reporters later that day.

While he is unlikely to play again this season, the injury isn't as bad as previously thought. Some believed it might be his ACL and a full tear, but that is fortunately not the case. He had six tackles in the game before the injury and has 53 tackles on the season, which is good for fourth-most on the team.

Jones had two interceptions, two passes defended and tackle for loss on the season as well.
