Kirk Herbstreit names Alabama's biggest "challenge" this season

Kirk Herbstreit gives a surprise answer here.

The ESPN College GameDay guys had a preseason show on Saturday ahead of some of the "Week Zero" games that took place. Analyst Kirk Herbstreit naturally got to talking about Alabama and if the Crimson Tide could make it back to the national title game. He talked about their biggest "challenge" and surprisingly it was not the Florida State Seminoles they face in Week 1.

Herbstreit went the other direction —- at least on the schedule scale —- and said that it would be Auburn at the end of the season who would give them fits.

"I think the fact that the Iron Bowl is on the road for Alabama will be a great challenge. And I think (former Baylor QB Jarrett) Stidham is going to come in and do well," he said.

Alabama opens its season against the Seminoles in Atlanta at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sept. 2.
