Alabama tight end Major Tennison was arrested earlier last week, per the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
The freshman tight end was booked on possession of marijuana and faces a $300 bond.
Tennison was arrested Wednesday after University of Alabama Police Department officers found 0.08 grams of marijuana locked in a safe after the freshman allowed them to search his first-floor room at Bryant Hall on the Sunday prior.
He was in his room when an officer working in the lobby smelled marijuana late that night, according to Stephanie Taylor of The Tuscaloosa News. Tennison allowed the officer to enter his room and he even admitted to smoking some marijuana earlier after the officer noticed some residue on his table in the room.
The young man was then read his rights and initially said there was no more marijuana, but then admitted to having more in a locked safe on his table.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Tennison registered two catches for 30 yards last season.
The Flint, Texas native flipped his commitment from Texas to Alabama and was a four-star high school recruit.
