Four-star defensive end Nathan Pickering has some time before he has to make a decision on his recruitment. However, he's already got a school he really likes as he told 247Sports. He named three SEC schools that he really likes, but they aren't "perfect" like he believes Alabama to be.
"To be honest, to me, they're the perfect school," Pickering said. "There's nothing you can take away from them. I love Alabama. The only reason I haven't committed anywhere because I'm trying to fulfill my recruiting process. They're a great football team. I like them academically and athletic-wise."
He had a little more to say about the Crimson Tide as well and how much he likes the football aspect.
"My interest in Alabama, of course, is very high. They're a great football team, but they have a very great academic program and that's what I look for in schools. I want to major in mechanical engineering and they gave me a chance to meet with the dean of the engineering program, so that shows how important academics are to them as well as football."
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive end out of Mississippi is the No. 4 strong side defensive end and No. 2 ranked player in the state according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He also has offers from Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida State and Georgia among others.
Here are some of his highlights:
