Alabama coach Nick Saban is all about challenging his players to better themselves and it seems that includes telling them to eat a little less. Alphonse Taylor started 15 games last season on the offensive line, but was relegated to taking snaps with the second team offense during Alabama's A-Day game. Taylor was replaced at right guard by redshirt freshman Brandon Kennedy on Saturday.

Saban shed some light on why Taylor didn't get his first team reps and what his expectations are for him going forward. "He's going to continue to be on the second team if he doesn't get his weight down and get in shape," Saban said. "Would he be a better first-teamer with all the experience he has?"
I imagine the answer to that question is yes, but if you can't move around like you're supposed to then you can't play for Saban. It sounds like the job is still Taylor's to win though if he can get his weight down and get himself in proper shape.
