After retiring from coaching back in January, Saban is taking on a media role with ESPN. The ESPN PR account on X shared the news that Saban will be joining Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, and Pat McAfee on the desk for the storied college football pregame show on Saturday mornings.

ESPN's PR team also notes that Saban will be making appearances on ESPN's NFL draft coverage, along with helping out during SEC media days.

"ESPN and College GameDay have played such an important role in the growth of college football, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to join their team," Saban said in the official press release. "I'll do my best to offer additional insights and perspectives to contribute to College GameDay, the ultimate Saturday tradition for college football fans."

"Nick Saban is a singular, iconic presence in college football. He is also an extremely gifted communicator, who will immediately add even more credibility, authority and entertainment value to ESPN, including our esteemed College GameDay show," ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro added.

Saban is considered the greatest coach in college football history, winning seven national championships during his time with LSU and Alabama. He took the Crimson Tide to unprecedented heights, winning six national championships and nine SEC titles from 2007 to 2023.

Now, Saban will get to enjoy a much less stressful job, working as an analyst with College GameDay. It's unclear what Saban's first ESPN assignment will be, but college football fans are already looking forward to seeing what he'll be able to bring to the main stage as College GameDay travels across the country during the 2024 season.
