The retirement of Nick Saban from the Alabama Crimson Tide is having sweeping ramifications, including his daughter posting a touching retrospective video and discussing how she's excited to spend more time with him.

Saban's daughter, Kristen Saban Setas, posted a wholesome video on Instagram on Sunday to chronicle her favorite memories from Saban's time in Tuscaloosa. The mash-up video showed important moments throughout her dad's career with the Crimson Tide, including shots of the crowd, national championship wins, visits to the White House, and much more.
With it, she provided a caption that read, "17 years - the happiest years of my life. I can't even begin to tell you how much I adore the state of Alabama. You made it home for us, you allowed me to grow up here and make unforgettable memories. Thank you, Bama Family, for everything. The end of an era. I love you."
In addition to this video post, she did an "Ask Me Anything" on the social media platform addressing fans' questions.
Among the posts, we have the following takeaways:
- She found out her dad was retiring around the same time, more or less, as the general public.
- Her mom wasn't diagnosed with dementia (apparently, there were some rumors of that).
- She's looking forward to taking long family trips with her family and dad, including international travel.
She also provided some thoughts on NIL (name/image/likeness) rules and the transfer portal, which some fans have speculated as the reason for Saban's retirement.

Judging from her answer, we can tell she's not the biggest fan of NIL and the transfer portal. "Things change over time, I get it. You have to adapt to the changing times but it's difficult to watch something that was once so great turn into something else."
As we as fans look back on Saban's legendary career, for Kristen, it's an opportunity to hang out with her 72-year-old dad that much more.
