Nick Saban pays the ultimate compliment in naming the best offensive coordinator he’s ever had

Has he ever complimented anyone like this ever?

Nick Saban is the most accomplished active coach in college football and his work as the man in charge for the Alabama Crimson Tide has been, quite obviously, fruitful. The mastermind has built inarguably the best program in the country over the years and that remains the case as the 2017 season approaches.

Yes, Alabama hasn't always functioned as the top team in the country on any given day but the consistency of dominance has been jarring and not even Saban can do that alone. In fact, he has employed a laundry list of impressive assistant coaches over the years, making what he said about Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher over the weekend all the more staggering.

Saban anointed Fisher, who worked under him at LSU, as the best offensive coordinator he has ever employed as a head coach and that is big-time praise. For background, Saban has deployed Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian, Jim McElwain and Mike Mularkey (among others) at the position over various stops and Fisher's acumen is apparently unmatched.

It has to be noted that this has a hint of "play the respect card" in advance of the season-opening match-up against the Seminoles in Atlanta but it also might be true. Jimbo Fisher has proven to be a strong head coach in Tallahassee and, prior to that, he was a widely respected name in the industry as an offensive coach.

The Crimson Tide and Seminoles will get together between the white lines in a few months and the talent on the sidelines will be immense.
