Nick Saban's Wife Releases Statement After Alabama Coach Retires

Along with Nick Saban's retirement from coaching and the Alabama Crimson Tide, Terry Saban, also known as "Miss Terry," released her own statement.

"It has been an incredible run these last 17 years at the University of Alabama and we take with us many amazing memories. We hope that the Saban legacy will be about helping others and making a positive difference in people's lives as well as the winning tradition on the field. Our Nick's Kids Foundation will continue to help children, student, and teacher causes in the State of Alabama. The rules for the game of football may change, but the 'process' will never go out of style: hard work, discipline, the relentless pursuit of a worthy goal, not cutting corners, and doing things the right way for the sake of constant personal improvement, not for the scoreboard," Terry said in a statement via the Nick's Kids Foundation.

"Alabama will always feel like 'Sweet Home' to our family, and we'll be cheering 'Roll Tide'!"

Last year, Nick Saban and Miss Terry celebrated 52 years of marriage. Saban, 72, had been coaching since he was a graduate assistant at Kent State in 1973. He ends his college football run with a 292-71-1 record, going 19-12 in bowl games, 9-5 in the College Football Playoff, and winning seven national championships, with six coming at Alabama.

Individuals took to X to thank Terry and Nick.

"God Bless you Mrs Terri and Coach Saban and Thank You for everything you've done for the University of Alabama and the people of the great state of Alabama!! May you both have a long life and many precious memories. God bless you both. Roll Tide," one Crimson Tide fan wrote.

"I was not an SEC or Bama fan, but as a fan of the sport it is sad to see when the greats leave the game. I wish him and his family the best in retirement," another user said.

Now, the Crimson Tide is moving forward. For the first time since 2007, there will be a new head football coach at Alabama in 2024 that isn't named Nick Saban.
