Potential starting DB has decided to transfer from Alabama

Where could he be going now?

According to AL.com, senior defensive back Maurice Smith has opted to transfer out of the program.

Smith was pegged as a potential starter for the Crimson Tide secondary in 2016, where Alabama does have some holes to fill with the departures of Geno Matias-Smith and Cyrus Jones left some competition for the defensive backs group.

Smith had 38 total tackles, five pass break ups, and two tackles for loss in his three-year career at Alabama. He is a former four-star recruit that committed to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide back in 2013.

Smith should be eligible to play anywhere in 2016 as a graduate transfer. Considering his talent and experience with the Tide, there is a good chance he becomes an immediate starter at his new program.
